Error 500 in Files view with markdown file

Created by: userfriendly

GitLab 2.6 on a RHEL machine here, it works well for the most part - pushing to and pulling from the repo, browsing the commits etc. - except for one of the projects I was getting an error 500 when clicking on "Files" in the web interface. The same action works fine for the other repositories, just not for this one.

Never did anything with RoR, so got no clue how to properly debug this. After having had a look for similar issues here I removed my README.md markdown file from the project root, and that did indeed away with the error.

As far as I can see the markdown syntax used in the file is correct. Is there an issue with markdown rendering in the Files view? If not, any ideas what I should be looking for in my file?
