Single project in multiple groups

Single project in multiple groups

Created by: ovanes

Just started to try out the new "Project Groups" feature and came across some unexpected behaviour.

  • Created 2 projects and put project Project1 into GroupA. Than put Project2 in GroupB.
  • Went to GroupB and added Project1 to it without any questions, warnings or errors.

Project1 was removed from GroupA.

I would really appreciate to have a single project in multiple groups, but if that is not possible an error or Yes|No question should be presented, if a previous project's group should be discarded.

Dunno about the underlying structure gitlab <-> groups <-> permissions (which seems to be underway as per issue https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/issues/739), but if feasible - it should be allowed to have the same project being used in several groups.

I'd add this feature as well: Group based Milestones: https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/issues/1795
