GL3.1: automatic avatar has gone away?

Created by: sroth80021

I like the 3.1 update -- very nice.

One thing I noticed, however, is that 'automatic avatar' patterns seem to have gone away -- after doing the 3.1 update, now for all the users which dont have their own custom gravatar avatars (which for us is the majority of our users), we are seeing this generic white person-shaped silhouette with a gray backgound avatar -- the URL is of the form

http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/b5369a260f244d78c3371c7234dec1ee?s=40&d=mm

We do have one user that has a custom avatar, and that avatar is coming through fine. This is only an issue for those users which do not have gravatars associated with their accounts.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but it's a whole lot harder to tell which users did what in GitLab -- I definitely prefer the previous automatic avatar, if possible.
