Unable to Install with VM - Gitolite Error

Unable to Install with VM - Gitolite Error

Created by: ghost

Hi

I downloaded this software via the VM here on Github and when I go to add a key I am getting an error message that says there is a problem with the config/gitlab.yaml or the gitosis is unavailable. What is the deal, why doesn't the VM just WORK when you download it (and reset your SSH keys?)

More information needs to be provided on how to get this software installed and RUNNING on a server where one can actually add a new repository and start using it.

@mitrimm I've had the same frustration as you getting it to run on Ubuntu 11.10 and I just wrote step-by-step directions that make this work. Maybe these will help you, see them at https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/wiki/V2.0-easy-setup-for-ubuntu

This is not an issue with Gitlab, it's an issue with your install. Please use the Gitlab Discussiongroup for this.

This is a GitLab issue actually. The installation instructions are wrong and thus following them step by step does not end up in a working Gitlab instance. Even the VM setup is wrong.

Please advise before shoving people off to a support forum.
