V2.0 Tutorial (Ubuntu) ArgumentError US-ASCII

Created by: michelkaeser

Dear GitLab Team

I am trying to install GitLabHQ on a Ubuntu 11.04 x64 OpenVZ container. Therefor I am following the tutorial over here: https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/wiki/V2.0-easy-setup-for-ubuntu

However at the: INSTALL GITLABHQ step I can't proceed.

I always get errors running gitlabhq_install/ubuntu_gitlab.sh

ArgumentError: invalid byte sequence in US-ASCII An error occured while installing devise (1.5.0), and Bundler cannot continue. Make sure that gem install devise -v '1.5.0' succeeds before bundling. Could not find devise-1.5.0 in any of the sources Could not find devise-1.5.0 in any of the sources

I already googled and it seems that there are others having same problems (not GitLab specific). Still, as I have no idea of the Ruby world, I was not able to fix it.

Could someone please tell me how to solve this and if it will be a problem continiouing the tutorial afterwards?

Thank you very much. I appreciate your help :)

Kindly Regards, MaddinXx
