Changing application/code theme fails

Changing the application theme or code preview theme results the green "Saved" badge but not forces the design to change. Browsing the design page again shows the old setting.
Steps to reproduce:
- Goto http://demo.gitlabhq.com/ login and go to the "Design" tab in the profile
- Change Application theme
- Goto any other page, eg "SSH Keys"
- Goto Design tab again
