Auto Squashing on MR

Automatic squashing of feature branch would be a nice enhancement. This could be performed while executing merge for the MR itself, maybe with a checkbox for "auto-squash" (i.e. like auto-close).
The funny thing is, while I was searching within the gitlab Issues if such enhancement was already requested, I've come to realize that almost all pull requests contain a comment asking the committer to "squash please". Their is clearly a case here.
