I need to be able to comment on a line of code in a commit

I am unable to comment on a particular line of code and have it show up under that line as a comment. Gitlab used to do this and I can't figure out where it went in 4.2

    In 5.0pre it's possible to comment a line in a commit by clicking on the commit, then in the source, you can click on the bubble on the left side of the source code.

    This is still definitely there in 4.2... Are you sure you are looking in a commit and not in the actual file?

    As @shivan and @m4tthumphrey mentioned this should still work. I'm closing the issue for now but if you still experience the problem please report back and provide additional information to help us debug the problem.
