Sidekiq will always fail because of no git user

Am trying to replicate my deployment environment on a gitlab-vagrant-vm box and Sidekiq just isn't playing ball. I'm not sure if this is an issue with this main repo or the gitlab-vagrant-vm repo, but it's a huge problem none the less. It seems like Sidekiq is still trying to run as git...
