Shouldn't
recipe_content = curl https://raw.github.com/gitlabhq/gitlab-recipes/master/init.d/gitlab 2>/dev/nullin /lib/tasks/gitlab/check.rake#L146 reflect the actual installation manual init.d url on 5-1-stable to avoid:Init script up-to-date? ... no
Try fixing it:
Redownload the init script
