Cannot change sendmail arguments as needed by Exim

Created by: cinderblock

Gitlab emails have never worked for me.

I've traced it down to gitlab calling /usr/sbin/sendmail -i -t -f gitlab@server [email protected].

The problem is the -t flag is broken for some reason.

Others have come across this issue before. Both here #138 (closed), mikel/mail#70 and on other RoR Q&A forums.

The proposed fix of adding the following line line to the config, either to application.rb or production.rb, does not work for me.

config.action_mailer.sendmail_settings = { :arguments => '-i' }

I'm guessing something has change since then. (I'm on 5.1). My guess is sidekiq now sends the emails and it uses a different set of config files. I however cannot find them.

Any suggestions?
