Can't add repos or keys from web interface

I tried doing the install from the wiki page and I still cant add repos or keys from the web interface.
I tried running the nginx as gitlabhq which is the user I got the public ssh key from. gitosis actually runs under the git user. However when gitosis installs on my system it creates its own user called gitosis. I do not understand how other people get this to work. I followed the wiki to the letter and either it is missing something and/or i don't know something that I should. I would like to see other people's configurations and exactly (per-command basis) how they got it up and running, as the wiki and the readme are not clear. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get this to work
I am running Ubuntu 11.10.
I will try to reinstall again tomorrow then I will update with configs.
