Protect state while editing the Wiki pages

When editing a wiki page of a project, if you press the remove/back key to remove parts of the text you are writing, the browser goes back to the previous page, losing any changes you have made to the wiki.
Would be great to have the editing mode as a mode protected. You dont leave that page until the user has confirmed it.
