Gitlab markdown - Link to a fragment of Wiki page

Hi, I tried to add a id to a heading with Markdown by using the following syntax
# <span id="welcome">Welcome</span># <a id="welcome"></a> Welcome But in both cases, the result ís just:
<h1 id="toc_1">Welcome</h1>Is it a bug in Gitlab Favored Markdown parser?
