Guest user can gain access to code by using the search on top bar when on a project

If I search for some sample code (i.e. php) using the search box on the top bar within while on a project that the user has guest access, the search returns results. However, when doing the same search on the home screen or even the search results page does not give results. It is like the permissions are not respected only on the project page? I am running 5.3 wit MySQL for the backend.
