[5.3-stable] gitlab behind nginx reverse proxy

[5.3-stable] gitlab behind nginx reverse proxy

Created by: chhschou

Howdy,

I have gitlab 5.3 stable installed on ubuntu 12.04 and working fine under a relative url. When I tried to reverse proxy to it from a nginx server over http all the assets are missing.

Here is my nginx reverse proxy config

server {

listen 80 default_server;

location /gitlab-01 { proxy_pass http://testgitlab/gitlab-01;

proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; }

}

The only bit of reference I found on the net is from this blog: http://blog.gauner.org/blog/2012/12/04/gitlab-behind-a-reverse-proxy/

But there are not enough detail to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Any hints appreciated!

      FYI relative Urls are not supported so you are likely to have many issues. Additionally we don't use the GitHub issue tracker for support requests and configuration questions. Please use the support forum, Stack Overflow, or the http://www.gitlab.com paid services for this purpose. Have a look at the contribution guidelines for more information.
