Font-Awesome issue after upgrading to 6.0

Hi,
I've been upgrading steadily for the past several versions. After upgrading to 6.0 the font-awesome files will not load. In Chrome I see 500 errors for fontawesome-webfont.woff,.tff and .svg.
Setting NGINX's error log to info, I see
*30 client prematurely closed connection while reading client request line, client: my.ip.address, server: my.hostname
three times, one for each of the fontawesome requests. Looking in /home/git/gitlab/public/assets I see the files there.
