Usability UI bug - Admins leaving or removing users from Groups
Created by: samrocketman
Adding yourself to a group is very easy. You can do it from the group members page, the Admin Panel, etc.
Removing yourself is another story entirely :).
- When an admin wishes to remove a user (or themselves) from a group their first reaction is to visit the Admin Area. They visit the project and see that there is no option to remove users from the group; only add.
- Said admin still wishes to remove a user (or themselves) from a group. Their second reaction is to visit the Members area of the Group directly to remove a user from the group. This works fine except if the admin wishes to remove themselves from the group. Their own membership does not have a "remove" button.
- Said admin still wishes to leave a group. They couldn't do it in the Admin Area. They couldn't do it in the Members area of the Group. Said admin must go to "My Account", click on Groups, and then "Leave Group".
That complicated process to leave a group exists. It should be refined. I'm filing this as a usability bug and not a feature request so don't point me to feedback.gitlab.com. This is in-line with GitLab goals of staying lean and easy to use.
