Markdown Anchors

Currently Markdown files are rendered with the headers having an id attribute so that they're linkable. This is great, but the anchor isn't useful. Instead of using a slug of the header text, it's using toc_1 etc.
Wouldn't it be easier to do what GitHub do, and use the header text itself as the anchor id?
