Bad css validation with firefox, everything ok with chrome

i have a problem with private gitlab server. It works like a charm on chrome/chromium browser, however in mozilla browsers it fails to integrate CSS and JS. The stylesheet files are loaded, but are not applied. When i try to validate the css file with mozilla css validator, it gives me around 500 problems and warnings. They are the same css and js file that get loaded in chromium and give no problems whatsoever. I've already tried emptying the firefox/iceweasel cache, but with no results.
Aside from prefering to use mozilla browsers myself, i would like to make the service of my gitlab server available to anyone who chooses to use it, so i really want to find out how to fix it.
Anyone had a similar problem ? I couldn't find anything online with this sort of problem, that's why i'm posting a question here. if any output from various parts would help, i can get them in no time.
