The installation directions are very good but one extra step I had to do in the "Install Gems" section was to install libmysql-ruby before mysql2 could be built ( I'm using Ubuntu ). You may want to add a note about that.

Hi, what version of Ubuntu? I tried it on 13.10 and mysql2 installed fine without libmysql-ruby. libmysqlclient-dev is sufficient and is in DB install guide.
