VMware image is not working

There are issues with the vmware image linked in the wiki.
notroot's password is "thoughtpolice" not the "gitlabhq" listed in the wiki and there is a gitlab user that I can't login to
some more details on how to get this vm up and running would be awesome - the wiki says I should regenerate the ssh keys but for which user? I suspect the gitlab one but I can't login to that....
