Gherkin syntax highlighting

Is syntax highlighting for Gherkin supposed to work? We're using Gitlab 6.6.4 and it seems that files with the .feature extensions are not correctly recognized as Gherkin files. If I look at the HTML classes attached to the source code it seems to be recognized as http.
