Version says "GitLab 6.7.2 fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git"

Created by: docwhat

I just upgraded to GitLab 6.7.2 and the /help page shows the version as being:

GitLab 6.7.2 fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git

I'm using Capistrano 3 to deploy, and it doesn't copy the .git/ directory over to the release.

I suspect this is the offending line.

That's the problem. It relies that deployment is over git.
