Side-by-side diff truncates lines

Our code style allows lines to become 120 chars wide. However, gitlab side by side diff truncates to something like 80 or even less. There is no way to see the remainder of a line AFAICT. Am I missing something? IMHO side-by-side is more readable and therefore, I would like to use it, but with it cutting off lines I cannot.
