Emails not being sent after chaning username

I am not receiving emails anymore (close notifications etc) with my user. Other users receive the emails without problems.
It might be due to the fact that I recently changed the username. Not 100% sure if this is the cause, as the whole install has been moved between systems, but the username change is the only thing that sets my user apart.
Did anyone else encounter this problem?
