/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.6' not found (required by /opt/gitlab/embedded/lib/libruby.so.1.9)

Created by: rajeshr264

Hi,

Here is a description of the issue that I am seeing. Any suggestions?

Summary: Getting a missing GLIBC lib error

Steps to reproduce: On a Redhat 5.8 machine, run these steps: -sudo rpm -i gitlab-x.y.z_omnibus-x.el6.x86_64.rpm # this is the .rpm you downloaded

  • sudo gitlab-ctl reconfigure

Expected Behavior: 'gitlab-ctl reconfigure' cmd should finish without errors

Observed Behavior:

$ gitlab-ctl reconfigure /opt/gitlab/embedded/bin/ruby: /lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.6' not found (required by /opt/gitlab/embedded/lib/libruby.so.1.9)

$ rpm -qa glibc glibc-2.5-81 glibc-2.5-81

Gitlab Version : gitlab 6.8.2-omnibus
