Gitlab thinks that repo is empty

GitlabHQ version: 2.4.0pre

Gitlab always show "You should push repository to proceed." page even if code is already pushed. Nothing in logs.

chmod 775 /home/git

as suggested in a comment on the Unofficial CentOS guide for v2.6 did the trick for me. No restart required.
