Avatars wouldn't load after upgrade from 7.2.2 to 7.3.0

Using gitlab-omnibus 7.3.0 on Ubuntu 14.04.
Issue: After upgrading from 7.2.2 to 7.3.0, avatars would not load. The ownership of /var/opt/gitlab/gitlab-rails/uploads was git:git.
Solution: Changed to gitlab-www:gitlab-www and avatars worked. I do not know what the ownership was before this. Also not sure if this is the correct ownership.
