Found this issue where in, I have a protected master branch. And there is one user with the role developer and the developer can push commits to protected master branch.

This contradicts the explanation given here - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/blob/master/doc/permissions/permissions.md

This is fixed in 7.3.1 (blog post). Please upgrade and let us know if the issue stills persists.

mine is 7.3.2 but same issue.
