Issues cloning/pushing/pulling from repos

I've been batteling an issue on a freshly installed Gitlab 7.3 stable cloned from https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce on FreeBSD 10-p9
I've traced it to that the API seems to do a GET to the api:
