7.7 UI: Broken left menu?

Hello everyone,

First post here. I have been using CE for almost a year now without issues. However, with the latest 7.7 upgrade, it appears that my UI is broken as the new left navigation menu appears on top of everything else instead of being "docked" to the left. See screenshot below (same results in all popular browsers):

What have I missed? What can I do to fix this?

    BTW I used the method described here for the upgrade:

    Oups! This was a gitlab cache issue.

    sudo -u git -H bundle exec rake assets:clean assets:precompile cache:clear RAILS_ENV=production

    All is good now!
