high memory consumption

I have just installed gitlab on Ubuntu 12.04 box. It is amazon EC2 with ~600M memory. Short after start gitlab consumes all my memory. Is it normal? I have only 3 active users.
I have only gitlab, ngninx and mysql running on the box.
