Moving to another server

Hello!
Let's say I want to move all repos to a new server (or to backup, just in case).
Do i need to do something special? Or just copy /srv/gitosis and gitlabhq folders and that's all?
The reason I'm asking this is that I totally screw up the current instalation, permission and... everything else and I'm thinking of reinstalling the whole things.
(i'm on ubuntu 10.04)
