Slack notifications are going funny

Hey there guys, really love GitLab
I'm having some major issues with the Slack integration though. It seems that GitLab is sending messages about old commits throughout the day and night. We have a constant stream of Slack notifications about old actions
I've had to disable the notifications for the moment as it is spamming our channel. Just last night, people thought I was working throughout the night because it kept sending notifications throughout the night of my old commits. Is that a feature so people think you're working harder? heheh
Worse than this, I've gone through all projects and disabled Slack notifications and STILL i seem to be getting strange old notifications popping up. Is there a way I can troubleshoot this to determine exactly what's going down?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are on GitLab 7.9.1 omnibus on Ubuntu 14.04.
