Issue email address not showing who the author is

I have performed an upgrade from gitlab 7.12.1 to gitlab 7.13.1 and the from address now appears as
From: Unattended mailbox [email protected]
The from address used to show
From: Joe Bloggs [email protected]
Is this a bug or has this functionality been removed?
I have noticed that this functionality was added in commit 96dded3e by Pierre de La Morinerie two years ago
