Similar to Github's organization avatars on user profile page. This was possible thanks to #6178

Cheers!!

@randx With PR #6177 being merged, should this be adapted to only include groups with public projects when a user is not logged in? I would be happy to submit a new PR if it would be accepted/considered.

Github shows all groups you belong to regardless of group's repos' visibility.

Right, but since those pages can also be viewed by anyone that is not an issue. In GitLab's case, the avatars could link to a page the user does not have access to. This may end up spawning some issues (as there are already some relating to not being able to view groups of public projects). I have included this in a MR I just opened.

    https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/merge_requests/28

It filters the group avatars to those groups the user could actually see and adds the ability to have public groups.
